Will He Stay or Will He Go?

I am obviously talking about Melo. Over the past two months Melo has had a $65 million, 3 year contract on the table from the Nuggets. Instead he has gone about his business and been enjoying his offseason. It seems Carmelo has been caught up in the hype of a fresh start and a big team. (Miami)

Denver fans have had to endure similar emotions of Cleveland fans in the last 5 years, with a contending team just not putting the playoff puzzle together. It now seems they may also be dealt the same blow with their franchise player packing up and leaving.

Take what you want of this photo, the story behind it is this... someone on the interweb went to work and after a bit of magic on Photoshop tweeted it on Melo's Twitter, he saw it and then re posted it as his own Tweet. Interesting.

The best case scenario for Denver fans is obviously if Melo signs a contract today, but that isn't going to happen so if he hangs around till January, before the February trade deadline it can buy the team some time. The reason this could work is if the Nuggets have a hot start to the season it could change Anthony's mind about their title aspirations, on the other hand a shaky start could see him jump on the next Delta flight to Manhattan, I'm sure Spike Lee will shout him his ticket.
